  • Competitive systems

Eight years around competitive mobile games, designing the layer that keeps players coming back: formats, seasons, ranking, and the tournament platforms underneath.

Since 2025, Product Manager at the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation, where I run the federal esports circuit end to end. Before that, at QLASH, I ran competitive circuits on Brawl Stars, Clash Royale, FIFA and eFootball, working directly with Supercell, EA and Konami.

01 · Competitions & seasons

A competitive system, end to end

Formats, a season calendar, a ranking that means something, and the reason a player comes back next week. This is the part I design, and the one I run.

FITP eSeries by BMW

The Federation's official esports circuit, played on Tennis Clash and co-organised with its developer WildLife Studios, with BMW as main sponsor. FITP is the first Italian sports federation to create a dedicated esports membership.

  1. Membership
  2. Federal app
  3. Weekly tournaments
  4. Ranking
  5. Live finals

Weekly tournaments feed the monthly masters; the masters and the season feed the ranking; the ranking decides who plays the live finals.

What I run
02 · The tournament platform

Engagement, built into a platform

At QLASH I built the engagement side of its tournament platform and worked with the publishers of the games it ran on. Plus TipKlub, a consumer app I took from concept to market.

QLASH App

QLASH App · from MVP to global platform

Tournament platform · 2021 · 2025

I oversaw the development of QLASH's own tournament platform, from MVP to a global product across mobile, PC and console titles, and built the engagement layer: leaderboards, personalised notifications, tournament automation, and self-service branded tournaments for sponsors.

TipKlub

TipKlub · Mindset Lab

Product Manager · concept to market · 2024 · 2025

A sports prediction app built with some of Italy's best known tipsters. I ran it from concept to launch and through the roadmap that followed, with KPI-driven analysis on activation and retention deciding what came first.

03 · Delivery

Shipping on a deadline, with high standards

Specs that align a team, priorities that hold under pressure, and the willingness to stop something that is not ready.

One team out of many parts

At the Federation I am the single point of contact between four external vendors and Legal, Procurement, IT and Marketing, on a weekly cadence. Earlier, at QLASH, I coordinated developers, media, production and legal across 1,000+ tournaments.

Testing on my own projects first

New tools and ideas go on my own projects first, where a mistake costs nothing. Only what holds up there comes into the job.

Stopping what is not ready

I stopped a launch days before go-live when membership validation was still accepting invalid input. The fix was worth the delay.
04 · Built myself

Built myself, with AI

Where I test how I work, and where my monetisation experience actually sits. I take an idea, decide the model, build it to an MVP with AI-assisted development and put it online. Two are live, one with paying subscribers.

Personal project

Assistants for my own work

Internal assistants · used weekly

Built around the work that comes back every week: preparing briefs, reading long documents and pulling out what matters, turning meeting notes into decisions.

Grounded only in a knowledge base I curate, always sourced, and what comes out is a draft a person reviews before it is used.

Paid web app · live

A paid web app that helps a fantasy football league agree on the date of its auction. I chose the model myself: you pay on the number of candidate time slots, not on participants. Live with a subscription tier.

In short

So what do I actually do?

I design the competitive layer of a game: the formats, the season, the ranking, the reasons to play again. I have done it on a circuit played on Tennis Clash, and around teams competing in Brawl Stars and Clash Royale, working with the publishers on that layer, not on the games themselves.

I have not owned a free-to-play game's in-game economy, and I have not tuned IAP offers. What I bring is competitive-systems design, fast cross-functional delivery, and years spent close to how these games hold players, as an operator and as a player.
